Dr. Joseph A. LaScala, owner/lead doctor, received his Doctorate Degree from Palmer Chiropractic University in Davenport, Iowa, where he was honored with the United States Academic Achievement Award and the Certificate of Merit in diagnosis. While at Palmer, Dr. LaScala taught the senior class and was elected to two terms as President of the Veteran's Association.  Dr. LaScala is a member of the Bedford Business Association (BBA), Michigan Association of Chiropractors (MAC), and the American Chiropractic Association (ACA).  Dr.LaScala was the president for Business Network International (BNI) until 2006.  Dr. LaScala specializes in the treatment of the disabled and amputees.  He treats all ages and conditions relating to the spine using diverse techniques and gentle care.

Our Staff

Pat La Scala, wife of Dr. LaScala and Office Manager, has been with this office since 2000. Pat has her degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice and Sociology. She has volunteered for the Child Abuse Prevention and Services Council and the Family Support Network, and for the Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse Advocacy programs.  Pat was also a Reserve Deputy for the Monroe County Sheriff's Department in 1998 - 2000.  Pat manages the office but also maintains all of the billing for Advantage Chiropractic.  If you have any questions concerning your billing please contact her or Chris.

Christy L., Head Chiropractic Assistant and Marketing Director, has been with our office since 2001. She assists our doctor(s) with patient care and X-ray. She has also been appointed secretarial duties as well as ordering of supplies, assisting with the billing, designing newletters, ads, coupons, and our website.

Cindi B., Chiropractic Assistant, will be assisting Dr. Joe with patient care and has also been appointed secretarial duties. With her elaborate background in medical offices we are very pleased to have her working with us!

Tim Dentel, C.M.T. - We would like to welcome Tim to our staff! We are very happy to have him here. He will be accepting appointments/walk-ins on the afternoon shift. Tim is an excellent massage therapist and is trained in several types of massage including: Deep Muscle or Connective Tissue massage, Swedish massage, Prenatal massage, Sports massage, and Chair massage.  Beyond the massage therapy profession, Tim will be taking on some of the responsibilities of the Chiropractic Assistant.

Although many of our community efforts have been through our office, we owe a great deal of thanks to our patients for filling our collection boxes and supporting our efforts!  These people are not only our patients but we feel they are apart of our chiropractic family!
